The Cabinet approved the Regulation on the organisation and operation of the automated road traffic surveillance system, called "Controlul traficului" (Traffic Control). The document sets out the procedures and mechanism for recording and tracking information in the process of automated road traffic surveillance system on public roads.

According to the Regulation, the holder and the registrar of the system is Information Technologies Department of the Interior Ministry.

Thus, the implementation of modern technologies in the surveillance of road traffic will increase the accountability of drivers and pedestrians, thus helping to reduce the number of accidents.

At the same time, the government made changes and additions to the Traffic Control automated surveillance system.

Decision will enter into force after its publication in the Official Paper.
