Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today participated in events dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM).

“During the five decades, the Technical University has ascertained as a reference institution that developed and strengthened the potential technical intellectual and national technical culture”, he said.

Leanca remarked the partnerships concluded by the UTM with relevant institutions in the world, which contributed to Moldova’s European integration. “Cooperation between university and business and production environment is the most important in terms of current globalized economy”.

The premier reiterated the importance of developing of an accessible, relevant and quality education system in Moldova. In this context, the government will focus on gradual increase in teaching staff remuneration, on providing better conditions of education for pupils and students – with classrooms equipped with computers, campuses and connection to the internet.

The UTM is one of the largest education institutions from the country – only one of technical profile. Over 1,000 teachers work here.
