Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today participated in a seminar of public policies, titled: “Economic Diaspora for Moldova”, within Diaspora Days in Moldova. The event was organised to offer Moldovans, who are studying and working abroad and who have achieved outstanding performance in professional activity, the opportunity to present the public policies in finances, pensions and infrastructure. It is about 11 projects on concrete topics, due to be debated, completed and implemented by the government. The exercise aims at turning to good accounts potential and knowledge of Moldovan diaspora to improve legal and normative framework and development of Moldova.

Leanca highly appreciated the contribution and enthusiasm of our fellow citizens by supporting the idea. He noted that the above-mentioned sectors are important for sustainable development of the country.

“This initiative, launched a year ago, meant to join efforts of the best of our countrymen, who made very good studies and have experience of activity in other economic systems, is an absolutely necessary element for Moldova to overcome the backwardness stage and to find a solution to make a qualitative and quantitative leap”, the premier said.

Attending the event were representatives of public administration from Moldova and international organisations.

The seminar is organised by the Bureau for Diaspora Relations within the State Chancellery of Moldova, supported by the Global Common Programme on Integration of migration in National Development Strategies, carried out by the Moldovan government with the support of the International Migration Organisation, United Nations Development Programme, UN Women and financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
