Prime Minister Iurie Leanca on 24 August participated in the inauguration of the fifth issue of the Gustar International Festival.
He was accompanied by more members of the cabinet. At the official opening, Leanca said the festival represented a nice and reference event for the country and aimed at backing the Moldovan traditions. “This event brings us together here to mark the national traditions, handicraft and our dishes. Orheiul Vechi (Old Orhei) is a place full of history and future”, Leanca said. “This festival proves that we have future and this future is European. We have traditions we turn to good account,” said the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Vlad Filat, under whose patronage the festival in Orheiul Vechi is organised. This year, the Gustar Festival will last three days. More local artists, as well as music bands from abroad will perform there. Exhibitions of national costumes, fine arts and musical instruments, tasting traditional dishes and wine will take place as well. On 25 August, the event will end with a recital of the Balkans’ legend Goran Bregovic and a fireworks show.
