Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today wished health, prosperity and success to all employees of the Agency for Land Relations and Cadastre, on the occasion of the professional day and two decades of activity of the institution.

Leanca said the role of the agency’s employee for Moldovan society was essential, and the institutions’ efficient activity and quality of people’s life depended on their professional skills. “Always, for Moldovans, the land and house have been the largest fortunes, and it is important that the people should benefit from a clear and efficient legal framework in the sector, and the interaction with cadastral institutions should not be a burden for them, but a civilized relation”, he said.

Leanca noted that the government negotiated with the World Bank on two projects related to massive primary registration of private property assets and delimitation of lands of public property of central and local authorities. “When we complete these works, we will be able to significantly decrease the price services for citizens”, he said.

For his part, the head of the agency, Anatolie Ghilas, said that the institution’s services were the basis for development of economic, social and administrative sectors. “Existing maps serve as the basis for planning development of all national economic branches: agriculture, environment, construction and regional development, transport and communication, science, extreme situations, country’s defence and others”, he noted.

Ghilas pointed out that the development goals of the agency were improvement of cadastral services, completion of registration of real estate, contribution to development of private sector in measurements, completion of works for border demarcation between Moldova and Ukraine and others.

The Agency for Land Relations and Cadastre was set up by a presidential decree on 27 July 1994.
