Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today laid flowers and wrote down a message in memory of victims of the tragic plane accident in Ukraine in the condolence book opened at the Dutch Honorific Consulate in Moldova.
„With deep regret, I have learned about the devastating plane crash in Eastern Ukraine, which resulted in death of 298 people, most of them being Dutch citizens. On the Moldovan government’s behalf and on my own, I convey my compassion to the Dutch nation and, especially, to the relatives of the victims,” the message reads. Today, Holland decreed a day of national mourning, following the first bodies recovered after the tragic accident to be brought home. Leanca also left a condolence message at the British Embassy – country which also had to suffer from the plane crash, namely 10 citizens died. Immediately after the accident, occurred in Eastern Ukraine on 17 July 2014, Leanca conveyed messages of condolences to prime ministers of all states whose citizens died in that plane crash.
