Prime Minister Iurie Leanca donated three computers and a high performance printer to the library from the Hoginesti village, Calarasi district on 20 July, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported. The prime minister offered the gift at the request of local authorities, because the library could not offer more beneficiaries access to the information on the internet and online books. Iurie Leanca said that he would examine the possibility of donating books as well.
The prime minister also attended the opening of outdoor exercise court in the centre of the village. The residents of the village expressed their satisfaction and told the prime minister that they needed such investments. Hoginesti Mayor Constantin Postari said that the city has received tremendous support from the government in recent years. "It is very important that the government turns its attention towards villages. Thus we can create conditions for the children and young people. In recent years, we have received unprecedented help from the government, which had not happened in decades. We implemented projects on water supply and sanitation. This year, from the government, we received 720,000 lei for street lighting, 820,000 lei for the Hirbovat-Hoginesti access road and 950,000 to repair the roof of the kindergarten", said the mayor. For his part, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca stressed that he wanted all settlements in Moldova to develop and modernise, and that the government will continue to make efforts to this effect.
