Prim-ministrul Iurie Leancă a înmânat Premiul Naţional celor opt laureaţi
Ceremonia de înmânare a Premiului Naţional a avut loc la Palatul Republicii, într-o atmosferă festivă, în prezenţa Preşedintelui Republicii Moldova, Nicolae Timofti, și a Preşedintelui Parlamentului, Igor Corman. La eveniment au mai participat primul Președinte al țării, Mircea Snegur, personalități marcante din domeniul artelor, științei și sportului.

„Good morning, dear colleagues! I told you that the end of August will be dedicated especially, besides the national holidays, to our relation with the Diaspora; the first project we have already inaugurated all together. It is about the DOR camp, which is attended by wonderful children both from the Diaspora and Moldova. It is a ratio of about 60 per cent to 40.

Moldovan, Romanian premiers broach more projects in Chisinau
Following a face-to-face meeting, Iurie Leanca and Victor Ponta participated in an enlarged bilateral meeting.In the end, the two officials held a news briefing. Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said the visit by Mr. Ponta is full of significance.

Prime Minister Vlad Filat chaired a festive meeting dedicated to Moldova's 20th anniversary of independence, on 26 August. At the meeting, the prime minister awarded the National Prize for 2011 to ten laureates
The prizes, worth 100,000 lei each, were awarded to: Gheorghe Ghidirim, PhD in medicine, university professor and academician of the Academy of Science, for remarkable results in the medicine sector, Ion Dediu, PhD in biology and member of the Academy of Science, for merits in the ecology sector, Svetlana Cojocaru, PhD in informatics, for outstanding results in the mathematics and informatics sectors, Vasile Botnaru, PhD in agriculture, for outstanding results in the agricultural technology sector, painter Isai Carmu for his entire activity in the fine art sector, Maria Biesu, academician of honour of the Academy of Science and opera singer, for remarkable achievements in the art sector, Ion Ungureanu, actor and stage manager, for prodigious theatrical work, poet and academician of the Academy of Science Dumitru Matcovschi for his entire literary work, writer Nicolae Dabija for his entire literary work and sportsman Tudor Casapu for remarkable sport results.

Cabinetul de miniştri, condus de Prim-ministrul Zinaida Greceanîi, a aprobat astăzi, în şedinţa ordinară, hotărîrea privind demisia Guvernului şi proiectul cererii de demisie, care urmează să fie prezentată în una din primele şedinţe ale Parlamentului
Potrivit legislaţiei în vigoare, după semnarea cererii de demisie, Guvernul va îndeplini doar funcţii de administrare a treburilor publice, pînă la depunerea jurămîntului de către membrii noului Guvern. La şedinţă a participat Preşedintele Republicii Moldova, Vladimir Voronin.
