Prime Minister Vlad Filat has asked the Security and Information Service (SIS), Prosecutor General's Office (PG) and Interior Ministry to investigate a case of the Balti Municipal Council infringing the legal norm. The Balti council today ruled to hold a local referendum on the extension of local autonomy of this municipality on 9 September 2012
The prime minister also demanded that the head of the Balti Territorial Office of the Moldovan State Chancellery appeals the decision of the Balti Municipal Council in court, after it enters into force, given the serious infringements of the legislation in force committed by the Balti council while adopting this decision.The prime minister described this decision as illegal, and asked to take all the needed measures to cancel it.

Prime Minister Vlad Filat will attend the opening ceremony of the 30th issue of the Olympic Games on 27 July
The prime minister will leave for London today evening. On 27 July, the prime minister will meet Minister of State for Europe at British Foreign and Commonwealth Office David Lidington.Also on 27 July, Vlad Filat will participate in a reception given by Her Majesty, Queen Elisabeth II at the Buckingham Palace. Afterwards, the Queen's guests will move to the Olympic Park to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
