Moldovan, Romanian premiers mark visa liberalisation in central-western district
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and his Romanian counterpart, Victor Ponta, met in the village of Sculeni, in the central-western district of Ungheni at the Moldovan-Romanian border crossing point. The officials paid this visit to check how the process of crossing the border goes for Moldovan citizens with just biometric passports, without a visa.

Moldovans meet their relatives living in Greece
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca met representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora In Athens, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported. The prime minister told the Moldovans living in Greece about the liberalisation of the visa regime. "The abolition of visas is a victory from which all citizens will benefit. We were convinced of the advantages of the new travel regime on the very first day. Our fellow citizens will be able to meet more often and Moldovans living abroad will be able to easily return home.

Moldovans are more free, says prime minister
Moldovans are more free starting today, regardless of ethnicity, place of residence or language. The statement was made by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca during a briefing held before the Moldovan delegation left for Athens to attend an event entitled "Free of visas in EU". The event was organised by the government on the first day when the Moldovan citizens will be able to travel without visas to the Schengen area.

Moldovan students, pupils to attend Visa-Free to EU event
Twenty-five students, winners of the contest “Be first to fly without a visa to Europe!”, organised by the government and Teleradio-Moldova public company, and six Olympic pupils selected by the Education Ministry will accompany a Moldovan official delegation, which will fly to Athens on the occasion of an event titled: “Visa-Free to EU”.

Moldovan PM’s statements at beginning of cabinet meeting
„ Good morning, Christ is risen!”.Dear colleagues, I want to mention just one thing. I did not to refer to this sad news during Easter Holidays, but I feel compelled to do so, because every day we hear about the lost lives of children, teenagers, and older people because of drunk drivers. Unfortunately, these tragedies take place almost every day. This happens despite the fact that the Interior Ministry has tried – and did so successfully - to create a system that would eliminate this phenomenon, or at least diminish it. Unfortunately, we find that although the statistics are improving, these lives are nonetheless lost: they are tragedies for their families and tragedies for Moldova.

Moldovan premier meets new EUBAM Mission head
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca met new Head of the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine Francesco Bastagli, early in the morning. Bastagli was appointed to the office on 29 March 2014. Attending the meeting also was Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola.

Moldovan premier meets new IMF mission representatives
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca met members of an experts’ team of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Max Alier. Moldovan PM brings gifts to sick children
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today visited the children hospitalised at the Paediatric Oncology Department of the Chisinau-based Oncology Institute. There are about 30 children there. Leanca talked to children and congratulated them on the Easter holidays.
